Double trap shooting world record holder Tim Kneale has been sharing his expertise on a trip to Dubai. The sportsman hosted an event in the emirate as part of his sponsorship deal with RL360° Quantum, under which the savings and investments specialist is helping to meet Tim’s training, equipment and travel costs in the lead up to the Rio Olympics this summer.
Putting RL360° staff through their paces
The Dubai event saw Tim put some RL360° staff members and key financial advisers through their paces and it gave him a chance to share his experiences and insights. Although RL360°’s head office is on the Isle of Man, it has regional offices in a number of other locations, including Dubai.
A ‘great opportunity’
Commenting on the event, Tim said: “The chance to come to Dubai and offer an insight into my Olympic journey and to share some of my skills and experiences with RL360° employees and financial advisers is a great opportunity.”
He also noted that the extra support he has been given by the company has provided him with a “real boost” in his preparations for the upcoming Olympics in Brazil. He went on to describe the partnership with RL360° as “exciting”, stating that RL360° Quantum is an “excellent company and product”.
A busy schedule
With sponsorship events, ongoing training and a number of competitions ahead of him, Tim is facing a hectic schedule. The Isle of Man-born shooter is gearing up for World Cup events in Cyprus, San Marino and Rio, and he also has European Championships in Italy to prepare for in July.
He will be hoping to perform well at the events, having already picked up a bronze medal at the Delhi Commonwealth Games in 2010. He also secured silver in the Shotgun World Championships in Italy last September. Reflecting his recent successes, Tim received the accolade of Isle of Man’s Sportsman of the Year for 2015. He picked up his award at a ceremony held in Douglas in March.
